Meets the requirement of ISO 15548-1

The System ensures the testing of the following wheel areas:

– tubewell;
– bead seat;
– flange.

Smartscan System Benefits:
– A unique algorithm of ECP “sticking” to the inspected surface, i.e. tracking the wheel profile even in case of vertical and horizontal wheel shifts;
– Wheel inspection in the “flange up” and “flange down” positions;
– Reliable wheel centering for heavy weight wheels;
– Adapters for inspection of wheels without a hub with a driven nipple (upon request);
– A remote “Pause” button allowing to stop testing and perform a manual confirmatory testing procedure;
– Lockups which stop excessive force used in bringing the ECP movement mechanism to prevent an operator’s injuries and mechanical damage of the ECP.

ETS2-73. Training in Turkiye 2024

See more: https://www.okondt.com/products/et/flaw-detectors/ets2-73?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=ets2-73

ETS2-73 is the mechanized scanning device for the manual testing by eddy-current method for presence of the surface cracks.

Eddy current method application at the active face control and the rolling surfaces of the rails allows to perform not only evaluation of the vertical damage depth but the localization of the areas with surface marks, such as:

1. transversal fatigue cracks (International Defect Code (UIC) 211);
2. quenching cracks (International Defect Code (UIC) 2223);
3. active face delamination (International Defect Code (UIC) 2222);
4. wheels sliding areas (International Defect Code (UIC) 225).

Performing the rail head vertical damage evaluation enables to decide if the grinding machines application is actual, or whether the damaged area replace shall be provided. This allows to significantly cut the time and financial expenditure.

Part 1 (Menu Structure) Of Eddy Current Flaw Detector Eddycon C & CL Training

See more: https://www.okondt.com/products/et/flaw-detectors/eddycon-c-detector?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=eddycon-c-part1

In the previous video, we focused on the eddy current flaw detectors of the Eddycon family capabilities, fields of application and use.

Also we looked at the appearance, as well as the connector’s designation of the devices.

In this video we will dwell upon the devices main menus. In this and next videos we will work only with Eddycon C, because the principle of operation and the designation of the keys and connectors in both devices are completely identical.

The main feature of the Eddycon’s menus is the absence of the tree structure. It means that there is no need to spend much time accessing the necessary parameters and settings.

The instrument menu is divided in five sections: “TEST”, “SETTINGS”, “VIEW”, “MEMORY” and “CALIBRATION”. In this video you will learn how to operate “SETTINGS” and “MEMORY” menus.

The principles of navigation between parameters and changing of their values are also considered in this video.

See more: https://www.okondt.com/products/et/flaw-detectors/eddycon-c-detector?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=eddycon-c-part2

As you know from the previous video, the instrument menu is divided in five sections: “TEST”, “SETTINGS”, “VIEW”, “MEMORY” and “CALIBRATION”. In this video we will dwell upon the “Test menu”.

You will learn how to set up all the parameters in this menu before you start working with the eddy current flaw detector. We will also consider the indicators that are displayed in this menu.

The flaw detector can work in 3 modes: Expert, Conductivity and Test. The Test mode is used only for the device maintenance, so there is no need to use it by an operator. Now you will learn how to set up and change the flaw detector parameters for inspection in the Expert mode. The Conductivity mode will be reviewed in one of the following videos.
